Central Virginia Screening Service Policies and Procedures

We are committed to providing accurate, reliable, and convenient mobile DNA collection services while ensuring confidentiality and professionalism. Below are the detailed policies and procedures that guide our operations.

Client Onboarding Procedure:
Upon initial contact, we collect client information, explain services and pricing, and schedule an appointment. A confirmation email with appointment details and pre-collection instructions is sent to the client.

DNA Collection Procedure:
During the collection process, we first verify the client’s identity and explain the procedure. Using sterile, single-use collection kits, we collect the samples, and label them. Post-collection, samples are sealed, secured and mailed to the laboratory for processing.

For the accuracy and integrity of our DNA testing services, we strictly prohibit any participant from completing a test within 30 days of undergoing a blood transfusion.

This precautionary measure ensures the reliability of results and prevents any potential interference from recent medical procedures. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in upholding the quality standards of our testing process.

Data Security and Confidentiality:
Your privacy is our top priority. Client information is stored in encrypted databases, with access limited to authorized personnel only. We implement non-disclosure agreements and educate staff on confidentiality protocols to ensure client data is protected. We guarantee that your genetic data, personal information, and samples are handled with the utmost confidentiality and adhere to all industry standards. Disclosure of such information will only occur as required by law and to authorized individuals. We are committed to securely storing and handling all test data and photographs.

Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
Our services adhere strictly to the legal frameworks and guidelines stipulated by Virginia state laws and relevant federal regulations concerning genetic testing. We ensure compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) to protect personal health information and the Genetic Information Nondiscrimination Act (GINA) to prevent discrimination based on genetic information.
